Marie Curie was a Polish physicist then obtained French nationality. She was born in Poland on November 7, 1867 and died in France on July 4, 1934.
She studied the radiation produced by uranium and discovered a new element extracted from the ore, radium. She discovered a new material: radium. It takes 10 tonnes of pechblende to have one gram of radium. An immense energy comes out of it, which it calls radioactivity. Thanks to radium, Marie and Pierre Curie(her husband) obtained the Nobel Prize in physics as well as many other prizes in 1903.
